Ordering & shipping

How long does shipping take?
Standard shipping is 3–5 business days within the continental US. Orders placed before 2pm ET ship the same day, Monday–Friday.

Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free standard shipping on all orders over $100. Under $100, standard shipping is a flat $7.95.

Do you ship internationally?
Not yet. We currently ship within the United States only. If you're outside the US and really need something — email us at info@toyshopnyc.com, we'll see what we can do.

Can I pick up my order in-store?
Yes. Choose In-store pickup at checkout and select one of our two Brooklyn locations. Orders placed before 2pm are usually ready the same day. We'll email you when your order is ready.

Can I change or cancel my order?
If your order hasn't shipped yet — yes. Email us as soon as possible at info@toyshopnyc.com. Once it ships, we can't intercept it, but we'll help with a return.


Returns & exchanges

What's your return policy?
Unopened, unused items can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Opened items can be returned within 14 days if they're in resalable condition.

Some items are non-returnable:

  • Baby formula and food (HiPP, Holle, Kabrita, etc.) — health & safety
  • Sale items marked final sale
  • Personalized or custom-ordered items
  • Gift cards

How do I start a return?
Email info@toyshopnyc.com with your order number. We'll send you a prepaid return label and instructions. You can also bring items back to either Brooklyn shop — no label needed.

When will I get my refund?
Once we receive your return, refunds process within 3–5 business days back to your original payment method.


Products & brands

Are your toys authentic?
Yes. We buy direct from brand manufacturers or their authorized US distributors. We never source from third-party marketplaces or unverified resellers.

Do you carry [specific brand]?
We focus on quality over quantity, so we don't carry every brand. If you're looking for something specific, check our Shop by Brands page — or email us, we might be able to special-order it.

Are toys age-appropriate as listed?
Age recommendations follow each brand's official guidelines and US safety standards. If you're shopping for a child near the edge of a range (like a tall 2-year-old or a young-feeling 9-year-old), email us — we'll give you our honest take.

Do you sell baby formula?
Yes — we carry HiPP, Holle, Kendamil, and Kabrita organic baby formulas. All sourced through authorized US importers, properly stored, with expiration dates 6+ months out at time of shipping.


Gifts

Do you offer gift wrapping?
Add a note at checkout to include a custom message.

Do you sell gift cards?
Yes — digital gift cards from $10 to $500, delivered by email. Available in any amount.

Can I send a gift directly to someone?
Absolutely. Just enter their address as the shipping address at checkout. We can include a gift message — add it in the special instructions field.

In-store

Do I need an appointment to visit?
No — just walk in. Both shops are open 7 days a week. See Locations for hours.

Are your shops stroller-friendly?
Yes at both locations

Can my kids touch the toys?
Yes — that's the point of a toy shop. Both locations have play areas where kids can try things out before you buy.

Do you offer expert recommendations?
Yes. Our staff knows the inventory and the developmental milestones. Tell us the age and what kind of play the kid loves (creative, physical, quiet, social) — we'll find the right thing.


Anything else

Can I get notified when something's back in stock?
Yes — on any sold-out product page, enter your email in the "Notify me when available" box. We'll email you the moment it's restocked.

Do you do bulk or wholesale orders?
For schools, daycares, party planners, or corporate gift orders of 20+ items — yes. Email info@toyshopnyc.com for a custom quote.

Do you have a loyalty program?
